About my background...

I work with people in person and by phone as a psychotherapist, couples counselor, and life coach. I started my private practice, Spiritus Counseling LLC, in 2007.

10 years ago I was on track to become a naturopathic physician.

After 2 1/2 years of graduate work in Bastyr University's doctor of naturopathic medicine program in Seattle, I made a big decision. I moved to Colorado and completed a 3 year M.A. in contemplative psychotherapy from Naropa University of Boulder.

I was drawn to this program because it integrates contemplative, mindfulness-based therapies and meditation with western, psychodynamic and group approaches to counseling. I am now a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado, a credential which requires 2,000 post graduate, supervised hours in the field.

For several years I served as Editor-in-Chief of Unified Health Journal, a quarterly newsletter for health care professionals. I had the opportunity to interview numerous leaders in holistic health and medicine, spirituality and consciousness, including Dr. Wayne Dyer, Dr. David Hawkins, Michael Beckwith, Dr. Mark Epstein, Bruce Lipton, Joan Borysenko, Sharon Salzberg, and Thomas Moore, among others.
