How To Be More Compassionate with Your Spouse or Partner... Know Thyself.... Heal Thyself : 4 Central Elements of Self-Awareness and Healing Part 1 of 3
Though "The unexamined life is not worth living" was famously declared by Socrates on the eve of his death over 2,400 years ago, most of us are familiar with this dictum today. Know thyself, is another classic aphorism traced to the Greeks. These concise statements of principle have stood the test of time simply because their significance for living a healthy life is as true today as in centuries past. They capture a central element innate to the healing process: self-awareness is the cure. Drawing on personal experiences, observations as a psychotherapist and a vast wellspring of wisdom from Jung to Socrates, I discuss 4 central elements of the self-awareness and healing process. The aim of this video is to help couples get to the underpinnings of natural, self-protective tendencies to blame one another when painful feelings surface in their relationship dynamic.... How is it that an individual in a committed relationship would not hesitate to give their life for their partner in a crisis yet so easily fall into conflict over the small details of daily living? Rather than wait for a crisis to express the profound depth of this preexistent love within, in this video we explore how couples might gradually remove their inner obstacles to lovingness in their ordinary daily lives. What makes George Foreman and the Dalai Lama so lovable? Both reveal what it is to fully accept oneself - just as they are. Watch and discover some of the most common obstacles to self-acceptance and how to overcome them. Carl Jung once wrote "human wholeness" is the core goal of the psychotherapeutic process. In this video we explore what it means to become whole, the significance this process has in day to day life, and what it has to do with owning the highest and lowest aspects of our human nature. "Run your relationship like a business" is a quick tip I heard once which ultimately inspired the creation of a powerful practice to help renew trust, respect and graciousness in relationship communication. Discover a new way to explore dissapointments together and a template to help couples realign their relationship with the core values at the heart of their union.
