If Aristotle Were a Couples Therapist
And 9 Principles of the Highest Form of Friendship

Marriage and relationship theorists agree that one of the central characteristics of a healthy, intimate relationship is friendship. Yet couples often get stuck in two lower classes of friendship described centuries ago by Aristotle – their union is rooted in transitory pleasure, or is based predominantly on utility and usefulness. In other words, class one and two is summed up in the question, what’s in it for me? The third class of friendship known as “teleiaphilia,” meaning “completed” or “perfected,” includes pleasure and mutual usefulness, yet is ultimately based on entirely different principles. In this 38 minute audio/visual program we explore how we might unknowingly slip into the first or second class of friendship, how to avoid this, and then discuss 9 transformative principles designed to help realize a perfect or complete friendship with the one we hold most dear.

3 Domains and 9 Principles
of Healthy Relationships

In this 36 minute audio/visual program I cover the three most empowering contexts/domains of healthy relationships, together with 9 transformative principles inherent in truly loving relationships.

A healthy relationship is so much more than a set of good communication skills, romantic tips and weekly date nights. The Anglo-Saxon root of health is “hal,” from which we derive our modern words, “heal”, “whole” and “holy.”

In this context, at its core, a healthy relationship surfaces every inner obstacle within us to healing, to becoming whole and to realizing our holy nature.

3 Principles and Practices
To Renew Relationship Harmony

In this 37 minute webinar (MP3) I cover three central elements in renewing a sense of fulfillment and intimacy in relationship. They include...

  • The unnoticed and essential factor of a successful relationship
  • The heart of healthy communication: how to transform relationship conflict into trust and lovingness
  • Escaping the parent/child archetypes: why couples mother and father one another, and how to transcend this pattern
The webinar references The Core Value Process (PDF) - a handout you can download now.

Subscribers will also receive access to the Powerpoint Slides accompanying this webinar.

Undoing the Barriers to Self-Forgiveness:
A Mindfulness-Based Approach

This 47 minute webinar (MP3) focuses closely on a mindfulness-based self-forgiveness process. In alignment with the basic principles of a broader forgiveness approach (as covered in the program below), in this program you will discover many of the central blocks to self-forgiveness. Central topics include...
  • Self-Forgiveness is blocked by the unconscious/conscious refusal to confront and accept two facts about ourselves
  • A broadened understanding of the human ego opens the door to self-forgiveness
  • The unnoticed yet pivotal factor in self-forgiveness: context
  • "Difficult relationships" and the role of dreams in the self forgiveness process
  • The archetype of the confessor and letting go of self-contempt

Moving Beyond Resentment:
A Mindfulness-Based Approach to Forgiveness

A 55 minute recording (mp3) with clinicians and the general public exploring the meaning and significance of the following 6 elements of a forgiveness process. A central focus of this webinar is on removing the obstacles to forgiving others

By the end of this webinar recording, you will understand what is meant by...

  • Your task is not to be forgiving
  • You're not resentful enough!
  • "It is impossible to forgive how you see it"
  • You 'love' resentments and their secret payoffs
  • Forgiveness is a natural consequence of the fulfillment of your core values
  • Forgiveness is not something your mind is capable of doing
