About Spiritus Counseling

Spiritus Counseling was established to support the administration of truth through God’s Word, the only authority for absolute truth; I will not deviate from this conviction.

I have experienced numerous blessings from God through provisions of his faithfulness; blessings that arrived in time of need. They’ve come through answered prayer, financial resources, and obedience to scriptural direction.

As a result, I wholeheartedly believe in the power of God’s word. My commitment is to be directed by God’s Holy Spirit as a guide into your personal struggles with habitual behaviors.

Christopher Harrington

Founder & Chief Advisor

I have overcome many trials through the course of my life. I use these experiences to fuel a compassion toward helping others seek freedom from self and a new life in Christ.

Overcoming a 20-year addiction, I began my academic career 8 months

later and has recently completed his Doctorate of Education in Organizational Leadership emphasizing Behavioral Health. My undergraduate degree is in Psychology and Sociology followed by a graduate degree in Addiction Counseling.

My Doctoral dissertation is titled:

How Spiritual Leadership Effectuates Spiritual Formation in Others: A Descriptive Study

As mentioned earlier, I completely trust in God’s plan for our lives; but I also know that it takes the support and guidance of spiritual leaders to help us with that path. I want to help you with your journey.

I consider myself a self-proclaimed Behavior Specialist; not because I have a wealth of experience helping others overcome troublesome behaviors rather because I have learned to listen to God regarding my own spiritual formation.

Behavior modification is an ongoing proactive effort. In addition to a drug addiction, I have learned to manage and overcome troublesome cognitive difficulties which generated a major depression disorder.

It is important for me to confess that personal change began with the help of two spiritual mentors early in my addiction. They were straightforward with me, often with difficult words to accept, but I always saw the glory of God work through my life in the process of learning obedience. It is my greatest desire that others join in God’s vision, to instill a sense of meaning in their lives, and respond to the love of God with reciprocal love toward him and others.
